Harvard students have FREE access to virtual care services with TimelyCare — the virtual health and well-being platform designed for university students.

Harvard students who have paid for the Student Health Fee are eligible to access TimelyCare. As part of Harvard’s partnership with TimelyCare, students have access to services, including:

  • Scheduled Counseling: TimelyCare services offer 12 telehealth counseling sessions per academic year and are available at no additional cost to students. Choose the day, time, and mental health provider that best works for you.
  • Psychiatry: Access psychiatry care by scheduling an initial consultation appointment at CAMHS via the HUHS patient portal or calling the CAMHS service at 617-495-2042.
  • Self-Care Content: Visit the “Explore” page within TimelyCare for guided self-care content, including yoga, meditation, study essentials, TimelyBites, recovery essentials, and TimelyTips, as well as group conversations with our providers on a variety of health and well-being topics.
    • Each content area includes videos, slides, or articles. Yoga and meditation videos are up to 20 minutes; the other videos tend to be around 2-3 minutes.
  • Peer Support Community: Engage with your peers in a moderated community forum, a popular feature among university students.
  • Unlimited Health Coaching: You can schedule unlimited virtual appointments with a certified health coach to address concerns such as:
    • Nutrition and healthy eating
    • Exercise/movement
    • Goals for illness management
    • Sleep improvement
    • Stress management
    • Substance use/misuse
    • Time management

Students have access to the TimelyCare wellbeing app anytime. That means you have access during breaks, after-hours, and any time you need wellbeing resources! Register for any of these services with your Harvard student email address.

To be eligible for TimelyCare services, you must be (1) an active registered Harvard student (2) with a valid student Harvard e-mail (3) who has SHF coverage.

What is TimelyCare?

TimelyCare is a virtual health and well-being platform available for Harvard students.

Who Can Use TimelyCare?

To be eligible for TimelyCare services, you must be an active registered Harvard student with a valid student Harvard e-mail who has SHF coverage.

Note: Graduated students no longer have a valid student Harvard email address upon graduation and therefore are not considered an active registered Harvard student.

How Do I Log In?

Go to https://app.timelycare.com/auth/login or download the TimelyCare app to access care.  You must use your Harvard student email address. If you have a secondary Harvard email address, please be sure to use your student email.

How Much Does a Visit Cost?

There is no additional cost to enrolled Harvard students.

What Can I be Treated For?

TimelyCare’s providers can offer support for a wide range of mental health common concerns, and after talking to you, will decide on the best course of treatment. 

What Services are Available?

Can I use TimelyCare if I am traveling abroad?

Several TimelyCare app features are available for registered students who are travelling internationally:

  • Health Coaching
  • Peer Community Forum
  • Talk Now
  • Self-Care Journeys and Wellness Content

However, mental health counseling and psychiatry are not available out of the United States. Please refer to resources for International students seeing mental health support.

Students who would like to use the available TimelyCare app resources need to use a US-based phone and download the TimelyCare app before going abroad. If that is not an option, students can use the web platform at timelycare.com/harvard with a US-based VPN. Note: Students need to either use a U.S. phone to access the TimelyCare app or a U.S. VPN for the web platform at timelycare.com/harvard.

International SOS program: Harvard travelers can use International SOS or their provider’s insurance coverage, if applicable, to identify and connect with a local mental health professional. Under the International SOS program, travelers have access to up to five (5) emotional support counseling sessions.  To access this service, contact International SOS by phone at +1-617-998-0000, or start a chat or phone call through the Assistance App. You should download the Assistance App before departure.
