Resources for Students Living Internationally or Student Travel
During their time at Harvard, some students will live or travel abroad to pursue educational, work, internship, research, or personal growth opportunities. Making the most of these experiences may involve continuing or initiating engagement in mental health and wellness services.
Below are several resources available to students living or traveling outside of the United States:
International SOS
- International SOS provides 24/7 medical, mental health, security support, and evacuation services to eligible students. The service can also help students find a local mental healthcare provider.
- Students can access International SOS by phone at +1-617-998-0000 or by starting a chat or phone call through the Assistance App.

TimelyCare
- Several TimelyCare services, including Health Coaching, TalkNow, peer support, and wellness content, are available internationally to eligible students.
- Students can access TimelyCare abroad by downloading the TimelyCare app before traveling, using a US-based phone or a US-based VPN, and logging into timelycare.com/harvard.

Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) Global Core Service
- Students enrolled in the BCBS student health insurance plan can access the BCBS Global Core Service Center, which provides support connecting with healthcare facilities and practitioners abroad.
- To search for a healthcare facility or provider, visit www.bcbsglobalcore.com or call (800) 810-2583. Use “HVA” as the prefix for the HSHP BCBS plan.
